Mari Sato, a native of Ontario, Canada, joined the Cavani String Quartet in 1995. Ms. Sato received her Bachelor of Music degree with distinction from the Cleveland Institute of Music and pursued graduate studies at the University of Michigan. Her major teachers and mentors include Richard Lawrence, Ralph Aldrich, Julia Bushkova, David Cerone, David Updegraff, Paul Kantor, and Peter Salaff. She is currently on the chamber music faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music. In her spare time, Ms. Sato enjoys cooking, jogging, and spending time with her husband and two children in Shaker Heights.
